  Whoever ends up taking Chelsea Football Club off the hands of Roman Abramovich, at no little expense, will face a multitude of key decisions. Some may prove popular with supporters. Others may not. The hope is, however, that the club continues to operate at the highest level, that the on-pitch success enjoyed over the past 19 years continues. Crucial in ensuring that happens is Thomas Tuchel. He is the biggest asset Chelsea possess at this moment, something that has been highlighted time and time again over the past month. Tuchel has faced the most difficult of questions and had to handle the most unexpected of circumstances amid the fallout of Russia's invasion of Ukraine Throughout it all, the German has acted with dignity and class, while also ensuring results haven't suffered.   Kai Havertz could become be the first Chelsea player to win a Premier League player of the month award since Eden Hazard in 2018, following his March nomination. The 22-year-old joins teammate Trevoh Chalobah among those put forward for the award. Thomas Tuchel's solution to the west London side's number nine woes has led the frontline to excellent effect, directly contributing towards five goals in three appearances. Havertz has grown into an integral figure for Chelsea in recent weeks amid the club's off-field ownership saga. The German international's finish against Newcastle, which has been nominated for Premier League goal of the month, typified his emergence as the Blues' talisman as he became the all-time top goalscorer of the Tuchel era. March has seen Havertz shift through the gears as he begins to answer his quest to fulfil Eden Hazard's role as the knight in shining armour at Stamford Bridge. Reece James urged  people to value his former Chelsea teammate and lifelong friend Tammy Abraham more highly. Abraham certainly gained a few more admiring looks over the weekend after he cemented himself into Roma’s record books. The 24-year-old scored twice yesterday as Jose Mourinho’s side claimed a massive victory in the derby against Lazio. That means the England international has netted 23 times across all competitions this season, the most of any player in their debut campaign for Roma. He tops legendary centre-forward Gabriel Batistuta and Vincenzo Montella, who both managed 21 goals in their first terms as a Roman.

Saul Niguez probably won’t stay at Chelsea after this season, but given how it all started with a truly debut, he will leave having changed quite a few minds. He was never going to displace our very settled midfield when they were all fit, but his versatility has allowed him to get into the team here and there – including yesterday where he played at left wing back. It’s not his natural role, and it showed, but he did not embarrass himself by any means, and his hard work and intelligence shone through as the Blues turned the screw in the second half. WhoScored  had him on a 7.4 rating by full time, a really impressive score, and it is easy to see Saul as having displaced Callum Hudson-Odoi as Tuchel’s favoured backup to Marcos Alonso down that side now. With plenty of games still to come, we’re sure we will see the trick repeated a couple more times this season at least.
